1965 Zippo a "CAAP" (?) man in a yellow suit and helmet with a green cross, the symbol for safety. The reverse reads "Safety Man of the Month". This is a 1953 Zippo with a Roemer Insurance truck with a "Safety First" bumper. 1951 line-drawn Zippo for Campbell Soup recognizing 1,000,000 accident free hours - June 1951.

attached Mobil "Pegasus" logo. The lid reads "Buffalo

1966 Zippo for Bechtel with
Green Cross for "Safety Recognition".
1954 Zippo for Ford Steel
Division. The reverse reads: S"afety Award 1,000,000 Hours without a
disabling injury - Cold Strip - Oct 1954" Zippo lighters have been used by many organizations as awards in recognition of safety in the workplace. The green cross is a symbol associated with safety programs and is used in the logo of the National Safety Council.
1957 Zippo for Ford Steel Division. The reverse reads "3rd Award - Safety Award 1,000,000 Hours Open Hearth September 1957".
1949-50 Zippo with an
attached Procter & Gamble logo on the lid. The inscription on the case reads
"World's Safety Record Soap Industry March 21, 1952".
1950's Sterling Silver Zippo
advertising "Navajo Freight Lines, Inc - Two Year Safety Award" The
lighter also is inscribed with the name "J.G. Carland" and has an attached
Indian head badge in gold.
1956 Safety Award Zippo with
a character graphic of Jenny Genesee and a Green Cross. nThe reverse
has the signature of "William J. Host". "Jenny" is the symbol for
