Zippos were often used as presentation gifts and to commemorate Presidential events.    

 

 

This lighter celebrates a re-election Campaign Picnic on Eisenhower Farm Sep 12, 1956 for the President & Mrs Eisenhower.  The lighter is not a Zippo but is manufactured by Bowers Sure Fire in Kalamazoo Michigan.

1963 slim Zippo commemorating the European Trip of President Kennedy in  June 1963, the same year JFK was assassinated.

This 1951 Town & Country  is engraved with the route map of Dwight Eisenhower 1952 Presidential campaign in which he defeated Adelai Stevenson.
Here is a 1952-53 Zippo with  a photo of "Ike" on an attached badge.   Eisenhower served as President from 1953-1960.

1960 2-sided Zippo with image of the White House on the front and "Compliments Dwight Eisenhower" on the reverse.

Slim 1963 Zippo with the seal of the Vice-President of the United States on the front "Northern European trip of Vice President Johnson  September 1963" on the reverse.
1963 Zippo from the John F. Kennedy White House "From the Staff Christmas 1963" .  Most likely engraved before Kennedy's assassination on November 22, 1963.

This 1959 slim Zippo commemorates Vice-President Richard M Nixon Jet Clipper Non-Stop New York - Moscow trip on July 22, 1959.  Has the  Pan Am logo.
