This is a 1938 Zippo. Very early example using paint-filled initials.
(Better shot to come)
This 1970 Holiday Inn Zippo has Philo's initials in red engraved on the reverse, the style about the same as on the 1938 model to the right. The final production model of the Holiday Inn Zippo has Howard Johnson advertising on the reverse
.
"PCB" are the initials of Philo C. Blaisdell, the father of George Blaisdell,
the creator of Zippo. These initials were often used in prototypes or test models
and appeared in many magazine advertisements for the Zippo, making PCB lighters another Zippo niche for collectors.
