Dogs on Zippos
1937 Zippo with Dog. 1936 two-sided metallique Zippo with the Scotty Dog design on one side, the stylized initials "FSR" on the other. This Scotty Dog design is one of the very first artistic decorative designs on the early Zippos and is the very first Zippo dog design. The dog, man's best friend, was the first image of any animal used to decorate the early Zippo. Most of the Zippo lighters shown below are prototype and test designs. Various designs with dogs also appear on the sports series' hunter Zippos.
