The Beech Aircraft Corporation, founded in 1932 by Walter H. and Olive Ann Beech, has left an indelible mark on general aviation, producing many of the most popular aircraft of the 20th century. It ceased to exist in 1979 when it was taken over by Raytheon Aircraft which continues to produce a line of Beech aircraft including the King Air and Bonanza.
